busking in downtown slc (take two)

24 May

Last week, I played for the Tastemakers Event in downtown Salt Lake City. The gig went a lot better than I expected. I had so much fun and learned a lot. I met many strangers on the street who listened and said kind words. I’ve become more comfortable playing and singing in front of people. I’ve gained more confidence and found the more I play in front of others, the easier it becomes to play in front of strangers. Some of my favourite moments include this incredibly gorgeous guy in sunglasses walking by and tipping me, talking to other musicians about the blues and this adorable little boy, who seemed beyond his years, listening and smiling at me. It’s funny how I’ve always dreamed of playing on the streets, especially in the London Underground Tube and now I’m living that dream. I may only be in Salt Lake City, but this is a start and it’s something.
